Ruth Scott Williams Minor
Ruth Ramona Scott Williams Minor, age 79, of The Golden Living Center, and formerly of Nimrod Hall, Millboro, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at The Golden Living Center. She was born March 17, 1932 in Nimrod Hall, Bath County, Virginia to the late Eugene and Nan Flood Scott. She was a housekeeper for Camp Nimrod and a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Millboro and a former member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Noah Williams; her second husband, Ernest Elvert Minor; and a grandson, William Veney III. She is survived by a son, Noah Williams, Jr. of Roanoke; three step daughters, Tina Edwards of Staunton, Deborah Williams of Flanders, NJ, and Annie Veney of Staunton; two step sons, Dennis Edwards and wife Rita of Clifton Forge and Elvert Minor and wife Dana of Staunton; three sisters, Rosa Johnson and husband Russell of Millboro, Agnes Chappell of Philadelphia, PA, and Ella Wiley of Danville; a brother, Reginald Scott of Roanoke; eleven step grandchildren; thirteen step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Millboro with Reverend Matthew T. Barnette, Sr. and Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call anytime on Saturday at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
