Obituary for Shirley Saville (Dilley)

Shirley Dilley Saville, age 80, of 4101 Midland Trail, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 24, 1936 in Covington to the late Lawrence L. and Ruth Eggleston Dilley. She was a graduate of Madison College and taught for thirty-five years in the Botetourt County and Alleghany County Public School Systems. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Carden Saville, and a brother, Kenneth Dilley. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Beirne and husband Tom of Clifton Forge; a son, David Saville and wife Carmen of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Dru Beirne, Kate Beirne, Patrick Saville, Matthew Saville, and Natalie Saville; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will include Patrick Saville, Matthew Saville, and Dru Beirne. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
